To achieve our mission, CWCFI organizes Community Health Outreach in the geographical area of covering  (1) the Inland Empire area of San Bernardino, Riverside and Los Angeles Counties consisting of the cities of San Bernardino, Riverside, Rialto, Fontana, Highland, Colton, Rancho Cucamonga, Ontario, Upland, Pomona, West Covina, and the intervening cities; and (2) Sub-Saharan African mainly Southern Nigeria.

(1) The Community Health Outreach, CWCFI provides:

A. Public Health Education (PHE) to the less informed, homeless members of our communities on topics about  Awareness of wounds and injuries; Universal precaution; Infection control; Personal hygiene and Sanitation; Proper nutrition; First Aid Administration; Importance of seeking early medical attention; Avoidance of self-medication; and Habits to prevent falls and injuries.

B. Distribution of Disease Prevention and Treatment Informational Pamphlets

C. Distribution of free preventative and personal care products;

D. Distribution of first aid materials;

E. Distribution of wound care supplies. CWCFI regularly receives request for wound supplies from within and outside the state of California.

(2) Free Public Wound Treatment Clinics: This service is mostly organized in Sub-Saharan Africa to provide free wound treatment to the public. During the events certified wound specialists provide professional assessment and treatment using high quality wound supplies. So, in addition to the service #1 above, CWCFI also provide treatment by skilled wound care personnel without pre-registration and distribute high quality wound supplies to last for a few weeks after the initial treatment.  Where possible, CWCFI also donate genuine OTC pain medications.

3. Wound Treatment Staff Training:

  • CWCFI has developed a working arrangement with several hospitals and medical centers that regularly provide space for our cilincs in addition to public spaces. CWCFI thus provide free hands on training to employees of those participating facilities in addition to our regular volunteers.

Future Plans

  • Increase the number and frequency of Free Public Wound Treatment Clinics (FPWTC).
  • Expand our current reach to more patients in more locations and states in the country.
  • Make Treatment Semi-Permanent through follow-up treatment after initial clinics
